Knockhill update from me

Web Monkeyracing

Well well folks, I’m just getting primed up for what is going to be a busy few weeks. I’ve just got back from a rather moist Knockhill, got a day at home getting some barrow jobs sorted, then to the Ulster Grand Prix for a week, then to Cadwell BSB the weekend straight after that. I’m not complaining though. It’s not real work is it?
Let’s hope we can get some sucess from the Ulster. I had a mega meeting last year and an even better year in 06 when I won 5 out of 6 races. It’ll not be easy, but let’s hope reliability will not be a problem. I’ve put the lads under orders to get rid of anything that could cause a problem on the bike.
We had a couple more problems at Knockhill when some fancy titanium bolts came loose on the rear disc and tried eating their way through the swinging arm. That knackered the first race, but for the second race I made a decent start and got up to the top 10 when the race was red flagged for a big crash when Tom Grant and Dave Johnson went down. That should have put me in a good position for the re-start, but the bike had chucked off a water hose just as the red flag came out, so that left us a bit late to get the bike ready for the re-start, that meant us starting at the rear of the grid. So finishing 14 from dead last could have been worse.
I’m looking forward to a bit of proper road racing again, and, I hope, some wins. First practice is Wednesday night, first race on Thursday night, fingers crossed.
