March 15th Update

Picture 1 of 3

Now then, plenty’s been going on – what with the Cartagena testing and all that. It’s all looking good. We did a serious amount of laps – mainly on the superbike and superstock machines. My supersport bike isn’t quite ready but I rode Alistair Seeley’s just to get an idea of what it’s like. They’re all as trick as you like and the team itself is spot on. They’re even on top form as far as the brew making goes – so what more could anyone ask for? And I’ve even got a new mug – what do you think?

Ta very much to photographer Simon Lee for sending me the trick as you like belt made from a mountain bike tyre! Now, I’m not into fashion in the slightest but belts like this are few and far between – so it has to be the coolest belt ever, what do you reckon? What else has been happening – err….I’ve also had some special bolts made for me mountain bike – proper, top quality bolts these.

I’ll post some details about a competition soon – so keep an eye on the blog …..oh – and I’ll also give you an update on lady Martec. Who knows, she’ll maybe even get to put in an appearance at Goodwood soon!

    Now then Mr.Martin.
Just seen that you’re a Dambusters expert amongst all your other talents. I love the Lanc and I’m lucky enough to only live about 10 miles away from Coningsby, so I get to see the BBMF quite often. It’d be great if the BBC would let you have a series tinkering on a WWII aircraft.
Loving ‘The boat that Guy built’ by the way…….so much so that I have to watch the repeat too!!!! I hope you’ll be doing another series at some point.
My uncle is ‘Farmer Wink’………famous for his local Lincolnshire dialect(you might have heard of him??) so we get what you’re on about and we think it’s great to have the local lingo on prime-time telly.
Anyway, good luck for the 2011 bike season mate.
    All the best,
    Crystal.

  6. Brad says:

  10. Steph says:

Cooper the dog asks if you’ll remove picture 3 because you’re going to blow his cover. If the FBI hear about this he’ll end up in big trouble!

  11. Missy Dee says:

    Alright there Mr M!

Cheers for the latest exciting update (especially the all-new Brew Bucket). Not that sure about the belt tho’ tbh. Is it wise to have a spare tyre round your waist – bearing in mind the ol’ unsprung weight implications?!

Can’t wait to cheer you on in person at TT 2011. Hoping it’ll be your year after Hutchy got all greedy at the last time.

Oh, & could you let us know what day you’ll be putting in an appearance at The Festival O’ Speed please? It’s only up the road from me in Sunny Sussexshire & it’d be rude not to pop along & say hello.

Take it steady mate & get that kettle on innit! X

  22. Siany (spack) says:

Could do with that belt to hold mi trousies up!

  23. W1lks says:

    Now then, Guy.

Been watching & enjoying your program and entertaining it is to so I thought I would take a look at your site.

I see your interested in Lancaster Bombers – this struck a chord as my Father was a wireless operator in the very same planes in WW2.

And where do you think he was based – none other than at Kirmington – he was in teh 166 squadron and used to drink in the Chopper(Marrowbone and Cleaver).

Anyway my Dad would have loved your program.

He was into motorbikes too, lived on the IOM, he passed his passion onto my elder brother.

Anyway, good luck for the forthcoming season.

    regards

    W1lks

  24. dogwind says:

now then youth, like the look of your belt, i not sure what make it is but you could get ya missis to tie you up with it and make it a goodyear ;)

  25. Brian says:

Due to the canal boat series, the girls and old dears at work have become interested in Faraday etc. and motor bike racing. They were struck dumb by The “accident” I showed them. Plus they loved the shower scene …the things they want to do to you!!

  26. Mandy says:

Loving the boat that guy built, interesting and funny at the same time – even converted the kids to watch it now a bit of history does them good. Anyhow, just wanted to say good luck for the season and all the best for the TT this year, xx

  27. Andy says:

Have been loving the TV series. Great to hear some local Lincs lingo on prime slot telly, flying the flag for us yeller bellies! Even got my 8 year old daughter saying chief, boss and mate (she has a soft spot for Mave!) We really hope you get to do another series with the BBC – you’re a natural. There must be loads of possibilities – maybe a train like you mentioned on the show, or something with the BBMF and the inventions they came up with during the war? All the best and well done.
