Nearly mended now

Morning folk, as always i’ve been a bit slack on the blog front but i suppose i’ve got a bit of an excuse this time, running out of electric in Kirmington is a common thing but not for this long, sorry.

Right, I never mentioned but I had a bit of an off while in the Isle of Man doing the TT races last week, nowt too serious, I’m nearly mended now. This bit of an accident has caused a massive load of get well cards, I mean massive, and i couldn’t be more grateful. I reckon I’ve had a 1000 odd emails all wishing me well, as well as 150 odd cards. As well as the mega emails and cards I’ve had allsorts of gifts, stuff like, books, lego, itunes vouchers, enough chocolate and fruit to feed the five thousand, meccano kit, tea bags, money, bike models, teapots, the list goes on, but thanks a million for all the effort that you all put in, it really is appreciated.

Having not been at work for a week has put a fair bit of strain on my mum , mr +mrs lancaster as well as the farmers daughter, but none of them have told me to piss off yet, so ta very much, oh and a big thanks as well to all the staff at nobles at hospital in the isle of man as well as all the marshalls at the place where I crashed for putting up with me. It’ll be right next week, I’m off back to work, I’m not sure how you can find the will to live watching day time telly, so whether it kills me or not im off back to work.

Cheers.

Oh i, southern 100 is in a few weeks, thats the goal.

Guy update : Friday 18th July

Jordan Mackman Zoe, Ami and Eva Todd

Guy is back home. Still battered and very, very bruised but already talking about his comeback. He’ll be back to the blog some, don’t know when but he wanted to say a massive thanks to all the messages, gifts and cards he’s been sent, well over 100 already. He says it’s blown him away – especially the home made cards.

Here are some photos, taken by Madbird, of some special Guy fans who came to see him at the TT last week.

The girls are Zoe, Ami and Eva Todd who came all the way from Northern Ireland to give Guy the pictures they had drawn for him and the lad in the green shirt is Jordan Mackman who brought a good luck letter for Guy. Much appreciated.

Sunday Night: Update on Guy

Just got this in from ace PR man and Guy’s good friend, Phil Wain.

I went to see Guy yesterday but, unfortunately, was unable to get a chat with him as he was being assessed by the doctors at the time but I did have a good chat with his mum, sister and girlfriend and he’s doing fine although he realises what a lucky escape he’s had.

His mum said that he may have actually punctured his lung and so was having a chest drain fitted yesterday morning to aid with the recovery – Guy, of course, wanted to come out yesterday!! He has damaged a couple of vertabrae in his back but is able to sit up in bed and ensure that copious amounts of tea can be drunk. He also lost some skin off his bum and legs as he slid down the road but this was quite superficial and the Dainese leathers did a superb job in preventing this from being worse.

I got a couple of text messages off him this morning and he hopes to be out in 2-3 days – he’s extremely grateful to all the kind messages of support and well wishes he’s received.

Message from Red Torpedo

Everyone at Red Torpedo wishes Guy a speedy and full recovery.
We also send Red Rider Connor Cummins our best wishes too.
Hope to see you both back on the starting grid soon.

Do you think they’re trying?
